The 2 islands and the Latin Quarter, a neighbourhood still dedicated to education and culture. Precisely: during the medieval period, women were in charge of relaying knowledge.
Healers, weavers, farmers and scribes held significant positions in family workshops. Abesses or noblewomen even assumed leadership roles: with political manipulation, Elinor of Aquitaine ended becoming duchess, queen of France and England. And Louis 9 would never have been such a king without his mother, Blanche de Castille.
This walking tour will take you many centuries back to feel the Gothic mood of the heart of Paris, listening to tales of chivalry, courteous love and magic. We’ll admire the Sainte Chapelle, the jewel box of stain-glasses, and the Cluny Museum, where we’ll try to decode one of the most mysterious series of tapestries telling the enigmatic legend of The Lady and the Unicorn.
